Our goal is to stabilize the grid and scale up clean energy use

We monitor the grid for clean energy and low prices, so people can use electricity when it’s cheaper and cleaner.

We build tools that help to stabilize the grid, so there's more room for clean energy like solar and wind.

We're hiring!

Meet the team

Erik de Bruijn

Erik de Bruijn

Co-founder and CTO

Driving his electric vehicle since 2013 and harvesting his own solar power since 2015, he wanted to be able to charge at the best times possible. Because there was no application available for this, he developed one himself. Much later, together with Jankees van Woezik, he founded Stekker.app and developed the idea into a service, so anyone can use it. With their company, the primary goal isn’t profits, but to maximize our positive impact. But first we start small and create a great, compelling service that adds value. We want to ensure it’s attractive for anyone to use, not just technology minded people.”

Jankees van Woezik

Jankees van Woezik

Co-founder and CEO

I made my first website in 1998 and got into a trajectory to start multiple businesses. Meanwhile I've always freelanced as a full stack developer and after about 10 years of freelancing I ended up at Ultimaker where I met Erik de Bruijn. From the first moment we met we connected on multiple levels which led to us founding Stekker in 2019.

My passion is to work on products and services that are meaningful to people and our society at large. I really enjoy solving such puzzles piece by piece. I want to love what I do and do what I love, work included.

Our mission is really important to me. I'm really grateful that we are able to give people the tools to save emissions and make better use of renewable energy.

PARTNER AND COO

Eric-Paul (or "EP" for short) loves unconventional solutions for everyday problems, whether it's by writing code, building physical structures or changing the way we work. As a developer he's been making apps for the web and mobile devices since the early 2000's.

In 2020 he joined Stekker.app as a co-owner, where his focus is on development and improving company processes.

"This is such a rewarding area to be working on. Everybody involved wins; the EV driver, the energy suppliers, the network stability and above all, the environment!"

“The team's dedication to our mission and the collaborative atmosphere is truly motivating. Daan Keppel

Designer

Daan Keppel is a versatile visual designer who started working for Stekker in 2023. Daan is a spontaneous, enthusiastic, humorous and somewhat nerdy team player with a green heart. She has worked in the online field since 1996.

Daan considers herself a no-nonsense, practical designer who likes to create clean, clear, user-centered designs. Not afraid of hardcore production work while enjoying running, nature, her dog, visiting art/museums and painting.

“I love wholesome interactions with colleagues,” she says. “A common goal, shared information, lunch walks, the latest trends about design / tech / tools, good coffee and a healthy lunch.”

Just like everyone here at Stekker, Daan hates inefficient meetings - and like some other colleagues, prefers to stand during them.

Thys Roes

Digital editor

Thys was pulled from the world of journalism, where Thys had gotten frustrated by the inability to meaningfully help the energy transition. Now, through Stekker, he combines his talent for writing, digital content creation and his interests in technology and energy.

Before he started working in TV and digital news in New York and Amsterdam, he enjoyed a stint as a junior developer in his teens in the 90s. Surrounded by his journalism colleagues, he's the tech nerd. Surrounded by tech nerds, he's the journalist.

Thys dipped his toes into Stekker as a freelance copywriter 2022 and started working as Master of Copy and digital editor in 2023. It's his responsibility to clearly broadcast the Stekker story to the world.
