All set and connected? Get the most out of smart charging.
For home charging, you can contact us for recommendations on which charger works best for you. We work with partners that will supply and install it, and we can ensure it will be 100% compatible with Stekker.app. For public charging: we currently operate some chargers in the Netherlands, where public charging with Stekker.app is possible, currently this is still a small percentage of public chargers.
Conveniently, the app will send you a push notification right after you've plugged in your vehicle. Tapping the notification will allow you to change the preferences directly, e.g. opting in to or out of smart charging. For this, we currently need a working connection to your charging equipment. If you do not have this, but you do have a working vehicle integration, you'll have to change your charging preferences by launching the app manually. The upside of using the vehicle integration is that it's compatible with most chargers.
When you have finalized your first charging session, you will see the "LAST CHARGING SESSION" at the bottom of the screen. Tapping on that tile will lead you to an overview with total savings and session details.
Not yet. We have successfully done experiments with other types of devices that are controlled through IoT relay-switch and "smart" devices that are internet-connected themselves. We focus on electric vehicles simply because that has the biggest impact. When you electrify your car, depending on your mileage it can often exceed the total electricity of your entire household. The switch from Internal Combustion Engine to Electric Vehicle still leads to lower emissions (even if you don't use renewable energy!), simply because gas engines are inherently very inefficient when compared to electric drive-trains. The same usually applies to electrifying heating, e.g. switching from a gas heater to a heat pump. However, this also increases electricity usage significantly. After Electric Vehicles, we may integrate heat pumps and then other devices. If you are interested in piloting these with us, please contact us!
